Crawdaddy!

In 1966, Swarthmore student Paul Williams started publishing reviews of rock music on a mimeographed sheet he called "Crawdaddy!" Widely regarded as the first magazine of rock criticism, the journal played on in various incarnations until ceasing publication in 2003. Now, after a four-year hiatus, Crawdaddy's back, and the Web's got it. Whether you twisted to Chubby Checker, slam-danced to the Sex Pistols, or just jerked up and down to Nirvana, you'll find a whole lot of Rock 'n' Roll to interest you here. Just a sampling: A review of the new Wilco album; an essay on the classic Jonathan Richman and the Modern Lovers' anthem "Roadrunner"; a very meta piece on interviewing Richman himself; a re-print of a 1966 review of Simon and Garfunkle's "Sounds of Silence"; and audio of a 1974 interview with Who drummer Keith Moon. Rock on!
