Ever since television made itself available to Broadway, the stars and supporting cast of the Great White Way have taken their acts before the camera to promote their shows. But it's only now, with the advent of the great wide Web, that clips of those memorable performances are accessible to us all. YouTube, of course, houses a stunning collection of musical theater moments. But we're partial to the simplicity and ease of the archive at Blue Gobo. Web designer and stage aficionado Jeremy Aufderheide curates this archive of clips from the mid-20th century to today. Here, time stands still. Zero Mostel performs at the Tony awards, the cast of "Bring in 'da Noise, Bring in 'da Funk" bring in 'da talent on "The Rosie O'Donnell Show," and everyone from Ethel to Julie to the original cast of "West Side Story" pays their respects at "The Ed Sullivan Show." There's no business like show business—and this site makes that clear. Blue Gobo, thou swell.
