The concept of this site took root when Danielle purchased the first issue of Ray Gun, an entertainment glossy. She saved it because of the impact it made, and, after a move to New York in 1995, she found herself spending more and more time at newsstands flipping through a variety of magazines. As her perusing time increased, she noted how new magazines would hit the stands each week. As she says, "It began to get interesting, and I began collecting." Now Danielle's collection of premiere issues can be found on this unique site. Each magazine cover is represented by a small scan and a fact sheet, including the opening statement that explains the publication's mission. The collection currently numbers 41 magazines, and represents an eclectic mix of the notable and the obscure. Danielle is always looking for contributions. If you share her passion of providing a "neat, respectful, and insightful resource for magazine lovers, readers and creators," she would certainly appreciate your assistance.
